Report: Premier League clubs send scout to watch Super Eagles Bayer Leverkusen star against Chelsea
According to reports, multiple Premier League clubs have indicated interest in Super Eagles winger Nathan Tella, and they sent scouts to watch the Nigerian during Bayer Leverkusen's game against Chelsea.
What happened
According to a report from TBR, a number of Premier League clubs sent scouts to watch Tella in the pre-season friendly clash against Chelsea, with Nottingham Forest and Leeds United confirmed to be among them.
Tella was named from the start by Erik ten Hag until he was replaced in the 81st minute by Montrell Culbreath during the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Friday.
The 26-year-old joined Leverkusen in the summer of 2023 and has struggled to nail a starting spot since joining from Southampton. However, those in England are well informed of his quality and, per TBR, are plotting a move.
Tella’s plans for the season
The former Burnley man reflected on his career at Die Werkself so far and assessed it honestly. He admitted that he has struggled with his output but is prepared to establish himself in the coming season.
As Pulse Sports reported, Tella has hinted that he hopes to get consistent running in forward positions this coming season. The 26-year-old is originally a right-winger but has had to play in midfield and wing-back positions during his stint at Leverkusen.
He has struggled to nail a starting spot in his two seasons at the club and is looking forward to a successful season next term.
