Semi Ajayi made his comeback for West Bromwich Albion on Monday night as they defeated Newcastle United in the Premier League 2.
As he improved his fitness, Ajayi played the whole first half returning from a long layoff.
Semi Ajayi returns from injury
Due to a severe injury, the Nigerian international missed almost four months of action.
In the first half of the Baggies' match against Cardiff City in the Sky Bet Championship in October, the centre-back suffered a hamstring injury.
Ajayi is expected to resume his full schedule within the following two weeks.
The Super Eagles and West Bromwich Albion's official social media accounts collaborated to announce his return to the team in a post.
Ajayi however was on the bench for 90 minutes as West Bromwich Albion suffered a 0-2 loss to Blackburn Rovers at home.
Nigeria's head coach Eric Chelle will be overjoyed by his recuperation ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March.
