Shinning moments - CAF celebrates Okoronkwo’s brilliant goal

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is celebrating Nigerian forward Esther Okoronkwo following her dominant performance in the Northern Super League.

Okoronkwo, who plays for AFC Toronto, was the star of the show, scoring two goals and providing an assist in a massive 7-0 victory over Vancouver Rise.

CAF's official social media platforms highlighted the achievement, with the organisation's celebratory message reading, "Plenty of shining moments lighting Okoronkwo's ongoing story."

Okoronkwo's two-goal, one-assist performance came in a resounding win for AFC Toronto. The impressive victory over Vancouver Rise, a team that had been unbeaten in its last eight matches.

Since joining AFC Toronto in February ahead of the inaugural Northern Super League season, she has become a key player for her club, constantly finding the back of the net and providing key assists.

Okoronkwo's performance with the Nigerian women's national team, the Super Falcons, was instrumental in the team's victory at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where she was a top contributor with a goal and several assists that led the team to its 10th continental title.
