Julius Mortier came in promising organization, discipline and entertaining football- something fans did see occassionally but football isn’t called a results driven business for nothing.

As fans continue to speculate over why exactly the Belgian was relieved of his duties there has been no official statement from club chairman Ham Mukisa detailing the reason’s for the separation. However one thing fans CAN’T comprehend is why the sack came so soon when the project Mortier was building was seemingly just getting going.

A Daunting Task for the Next Vipers Coach

Being entrusted with the managerial reigns at Vipers isn’t something that every coach covets. Sure you’ll get better pay than your local rivals but patience wears very thin with fans and officials if your team isn’t winning in dominant fashion.

Fans have grown accustomed to seeing their team dominate league rivals and given the high standards set by coaches in the past this always means eyeing silverware every season. So, expect the club to move swiftly in their search for a new man. An Interim manager could be named should the board wish to take their time with the project but should they decide to go it alone fans will want speedy business.

One name that football insiders keep coming to is former Scorpions skipper, Stale Solbakken. He is currently not coaching and has experience coaching the Norwegian National Team. His experience in Africa, coupled with his previous success in Norway could see him attract attention from Vipers board. For now however we wait and absorb the impact of Julius Mortier getting the sack so quickly.
