Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye apologises to fans for costly error against Inter Milan
Udinese lost their second game of the season in the Serie A in a 3-2 defeat to reigning champions Inter Milan.
The defeat comes as the second loss in a row in the Serie A as they drop down to eighth place on the league table.
Okoye, who lately found himself in the public eye because of personal problems off the pitch, made a costly error during the game.
Okoye apologies
Maduka Okoye has expressed regret for his mistake and admitted that it was a factor in the loss against Inter.
The 25-year-old Nigerian goalie apologised on Instagram for his play, especially for his part in giving up Davide Frattesi's easy first goal.
He apologised to the fans, saying, "Sorry,” in an Instagram Story as reported by TuttoUdinese, demonstrating his understanding of how serious the mistake was.
Since taking over Udinese's goalkeeping position last year, Okoye has been outstanding for the Italian side.
However, his error occurred a few hours after Dutch model Jelicia Westhoff, who had been his long-time lover, made their four-year relationship public.
Okoye will be looking to bounce back from his horrible mistake when Udinese face Lecce next weekend.
