Super Eagles star Bright Osayi demands ₦4 billion salary to remain with Mourinho

Fenerbahce has a deal with Osayi-Samuel that expires at the end of the 2024–2025 campaign, and the Istanbul giants do not want one of their important players to lose his contract.

The Super Eagles star has been instrumental in Fenerbahce’s 2023/2024 campaign in the Turkish Super Lig.

However, with Mourinho appointed as the new manager of Fenerbahce, the defender is negotiating a new contract extension with the club. 

Osayi has been linked with a move to England during the summer transfer window but is looking to remain with Fenerbahce.

Fenerbahçe and Osayi-Samuel have reportedly started contract extension talks, according to Turkish sports daily Fanatik.

Reports suggest that Osayi-Samuel requested a pay rise with Jose Mourinho, the new Fenerbahce coach, wanting the defender in his team next season  

Osayi-Samuel is requesting an extension of his contract with Fenerbahce in exchange for a net annual wage of 2.5 million euros, or around N4 billion in Nigerian money. 

Though no deal has been reached, the parties are scheduled to meet this week in an attempt to find a middle ground in the ongoing negotiations to extend his contract.

Osayi-Samuel is part of Mourinho's plans for the upcoming season as they look to challenge for the title.
