Super Falcons of Nigeria thrash Lions FC 8-1 in friendly game
The Super Falcons of Nigeria continue their preparation for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
The team led by Head Coach Randy Waldrum recorded an 8-1 victory against Queensland Lions FC on Friday, July 14, 2023.

The Super Falcons are already in Australia and are already fine-tuning preparations for their three group games.
The Super Falcons confirmed the friendly with photos and a statement on their official social media platforms.
A statement by the Super Falcons on the game said, "We recorded a morale-boosting 8-1 victory over an Australian club, Lions FC in a friendly in Gold Coast 🇳🇿.
"SCORERS: Asisat Oshoala (2), Ifeoma Onumonu, Toni Payne, Rasheedat Ajibade, Halimatu Ayinde, Uchenna Kanu and Gift Monday."
According to the latest Super Falcons update, star forward Asisat Oshoala has recovered from an injury that saw her miss the 2023 UEFA Women's Champions League for Barcelona.
Oshoala scored twice to complement six others in a comfortable warm-up encounter.
The Super Falcons have reportedly put aside issues of a strike and are now focused on the task at hand.
Along with Australia, Canada, and the Republic of Ireland, the Super Falcons have been placed in group B.
