Super Falcons star Ashleigh Plumptre celebrates relegation survival with Leicester City

Ashleigh Plumptre, a defender for the Super Falcons of Nigeria, played for Leicester City as they defeated Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 in an English Women's Super League, fixture.

The 1-0 victory on the last day of the campaign assisted Leicester City in avoiding the drop.

Ava Baker's goal in the second half was sufficient for Leicester City to earn the three points.

During her 90 minutes of play, Plumptre assisted her defense in fending off a late Brighton attack so they could escape with the win.

The entire Leicester team put in a terrific effort, taking control of their own destiny, to guarantee that they finished the season with three points and above the relegation spot. 

With their win on Saturday, the Foxes were assured of their safety as well as a 10th-place finish after passing Brighton on the last day of the season.

At the Select Car Leasing Stadium, Reading suffered a loss at the hands of champions Chelsea, which resulted in their relegation to the Barclays Women's Champions.

Plumptre joined the celebrations following the game as Leicester City achieved its highest-ever finish in the pyramid.
