Takeover: Sheikh Jassim tables final take it or leave it offer for Manchester United
Sheikh Jassim has reportedly given the Glazers an ultimatum. They are said to have sent in a final offer earlier this week and will be backing out on Friday if they do not get a positive response.
The Qatari banker has been involved in a protracted attempt to take over the Red Devils and is in direct competition with Britain's Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos company.
Qatar's ultimatum
According to the Sun, the Qatari offer to buy Manchester United will be taken off the table if the Glazers do not accept it by Friday.
The Sheikh's offer reportedly dwarfs the club's current under-£2.5b valuation on the New York Stock Exchange and is a cash upfront deal that will clear the club's debts.
However, it is reportedly below the £6 billion valuation by the Glazers. His first four bids were farther away, but his latest offer is said to be worth around £5.5 billion.
If the family refuses to accept the deal by Friday, the Qatari will reportedly back out, four months after making his initial offer.
