The excellent stats behind Mukwala's Ghana Premier League Player of the Month award
Uganda Cranes forward Steven Desse Mukwala has been named the Player of the Month for December in the Ghanaian Premier League.
The recognition caps off what was a genuinely excellent month for Mukwala with giants and two-time CAF Champions League winners Asante Kotoko FC.
The 24-year-old netted six times in five appearances in the month, scoring in four of them.
Mukwala got the month off with a goal against Berekum Chelsea in Asante Kotoko's 1-0 victory on December 4.
He then bagged a brace as the Porcupine Warriors edged Hearts of Oak 3-2 seven days later.
A week later, the former URA FC man then missed out on the score-sheet as Asante Kotoko were held to a barren stalemate by Great Olympics FC.
On December 24, Mukwala returned among the goals with his team's sole strike in a 1-0 victory over Real Tamale.
He then wrapped the year with another brilliant brace in his side's 2-0 win over Bofoakwa Tano.
Overall in the league this season, Mukwala has scored eight goals in 15 games.
Grateful for the massive support from the coaches, teammates, and the amazing porcupine fans🔴

He sits third on the top-scorers' chart, one behind leading marksmen Isaac Mintah and Augustine Okrah.
More impressively, his December goals fetched 12 points as Kotoko mounts a charge for the Ghana Premier League title.
After 17 games, Asante Kotoko sit third with 29 points, three adrift of leaders Samartex.
