‘The problem was Napoli’ - Galatasaray legend shocked with Osimhen’s move to Turkey
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli after a failed move to a top European club in the summer.
The Super Eagles star forward had decided to quit Napoli and had his sights set on either returning to Ligue 1 or heading to the Premier League.
However, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Al-Ahli found it challenging to get him due to the Parthenopeans' high valuation, and the Italian team also thwarted 's attempt to sign him.
Prekazi on Osimhen’s move
Dževad Prekazi said in an interview with TRT Spor via Cumhuriyet that he was surprised that Osimhen had chosen to join Galatasaray and that the lanky forward would be a valuable addition.
He said, “I couldn't believe Osimhen, I couldn't believe he would come to Galatasaray and that he did.
“He wanted to go to England, the problem was in Napoli because the transfer was a lot of money.
"I don't know how he came to Galatasaray. It's great, he will make a great contribution, it's obvious. Nobody can keep him."
The forward has started the season in perfect form, scoring two goals and providing two assists in three games in the Turkish League.
However, he is currently injured and was unable to join the Super Eagles team for their AFCON qualifying games.
