France coach Didier Deschamps has responded to accusations levelled against his staff by Paris Saint-Germain.

The Champions League winners blamed the national team doctors after Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé sustained injuries, forcing them to miss several crucial matches.

According to PSG, Deschamps' medical team was aware of the players' conditions but still allowed them to pick up injuries.

“There’s no such thing as zero risk,” Deschamps stated on TF1, via Sportal. “If the situation is clear beforehand, as it was with Rayan Cherki and William Saliba, then I simply don’t call them up.

We’ve always had this type of relationship with all clubs. I always ask for the player’s opinion too – that’s how I operate.

"Still, I understand the people at PSG, because if I were in their shoes, I would react the same way,” the French coach added, as reported by Sportal.

Doué and Dembélé both picked up injuries in the recent World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.

Curiously, Doué started the match and felt pain, leading to his substitution by Dembélé, who also failed to finish the game due to his own issues.
