‘They are great’ - Ex-Galatasaray President hails duo Osimhen and Icardi but claims title race is not over

Galatasaray defeated their rivals Beşiktaş 2-1 on Monday night to move eight points clear on the league table.

The Super Eagles striker played an important role in the victory, scoring the winning goal for his new team.

Okan Buruk's team has been playing exceptionally well, with Osimhen and Icardi helping the table-toppers score eleven goals in the Super League.

Adnan praised Osimhen and Icardi after both players had helped their team defeat Beşiktaş.

According to Ekol TV, the 71-year-old said, “I congratulate both teams, I am happy that we won. I hope Galatasaray continues like this. 

“I also congratulate Beşiktaş, they fought well. Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi are great, what more can I say.”

Adnan Polat was also asked which team he believes would win the Turkish Super Lïg at the end of the season.

He said, “It is too early. Let’s get closer to May and then we will talk. Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe will continue in the race, Samsunspor is doing very well. Trabzonspor will recover with Şenol Hoca. The race will continue among the big three.”

Galatasaray will face Tottenham Hotspur next week Thursday in their UEFA Europa League group-stage clash.
