Before the transfer window closed, the England international emerged as a target for RB Leipzig as a potential replacement for Xavi Simons.
However, on deadline day, Aston Villa swooped in to sign the midfielder, ending his tenure at Anfield.
The deal, valued at £35 million (approximately $47 million), marked a significant move for the youngster.
Salah's message
Mohamed Salah continues to use his social media presence to express regret over the players Liverpool has parted ways with this summer, as the club undertakes an unprecedented squad overhaul.
After engaging in a virtual dialogue yesterday with a Liverpool fan page, urging more respect for champions Luis Diaz and Darwin Núñez, the Egyptian star today sent a message to Harvey Elliott, who has moved to Aston Villa.
“You will be remembered for your loyalty and dedication every time you were called upon. You leave as a champion, and I have no doubt you will achieve great things at your new club. They are lucky to have you,” Salah wrote on his X page, via Sportal.
Elliott spent six years at Liverpool, the club he has always supported. He made 149 appearances for the Reds, scoring 15 goals.
