In a highly competitive men's 100m final at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships, Seville produced his best career performance when it mattered most, blazing to the finish line in an astonishing new personal best of 9.79s.

He overcame the fast-starting, powerful run of his compatriot Kishane Thompson, who settled for another silver medal in 9.82s, while defending champion Lyles locked in a Season's Best (SB) of 9.89s for the bronze medal.

With Seville's winning performance, he became Jamaica's first world champion since Usain Bolt - a feat that has taken over a decade to accomplish.

He has also propelled himself as a worthy competitor and champion in the elite league of the world's best sprinters after several years of disappointing performances at major championships.
