KRC Genk delivered a commanding performance at the Cegeka Arena, defeating KAA Gent 4-1 in a thrilling Belgian Jupiler Pro League match.
The match began with an early setback for Genk as Gent took the lead in the ninth minute through Dante Vanzeir.

However, Genk responded with Nigerian star Yira Sor equalizing in the 32nd minute.
Just before the halftime break, Genk took the lead in the 45th minute through an own goal by Gent’s Mohamed Soumah.
The second half saw Genk further assert their dominance and in the 70th minute, Noah Adedeji-Sternberg extended Genk’s lead to 3-1.
The final nail in Gent’s coffin came in the 88th minute when Tolu Arokodare, who had come on as a substitute for Oh Hyeon-gyu.
Arokodare found the back of the net earlier but was ruled out by VAR.
He sealed the win with Genk’s fourth goal this time proving his worth as a super-sub.
