The 26-year-old served as backup to Alisson Becker during Liverpool’s Premier League title-winning season, stepping in for 10 league matches when the first-choice keeper was injured.

Eager for regular first-team action, Kelleher, with one year left on his contract, attracted interest from Leeds, West Ham, and Bournemouth.

Brentford have secured an initial £12.5 million fee for the Ireland international, which could rise to £18 million if performance-related clauses are met.

Kelleher shone in Liverpool’s 2022 League Cup final win over Chelsea, making crucial saves and scoring in the dramatic 11-10 shoot-out victory. He also started in their 2024 League Cup final triumph against the same opponent.

At Anfield, Kelleher will be replaced by Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili, who agreed to join Arne Slot’s side last year and will arrive ahead of next season.

Meanwhile, Kelleher’s move to west London aligns with Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken’s £9 million transfer to Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen.
