Tyson Fury discloses staggering amount Francis Ngannou will earn from Saudi boxing debut
Tyson Fury, the current WBC heavyweight champion, appears to have revealed Francis Ngannou's purse for their contentious crossover match.
A lucrative ten-round Saudi Arabian clash between The Gypsy King and the former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is a little over four weeks away.
Six months after it appeared that he had walked away from a guaranteed £6.5 million ($8 million) bout against MMA legend Jon Jones, Ngannou secured the biggest fight of his career.
To induce Fury and Ngannou to share the ring, Saudi officials paid a hefty sum.
Fury discloses Ngannou's fee
When he enters the ring for their infamous desert brawl, the Cameroonian fighter, according to Fury, will earn at least £8.1 million ($10 million).
Fury according to a statement by the Sun said, "Everyone said he was an idiot for walking away from the UFC and now all of a sudden he's a genius, isn't he?"
"Guy's about to make $10 million (£8.1m). Come on! Egg in their face! Francis is going to make that bag. Rich!"
Ngannou, who is 37, will be paid much more than the amount Fury is claiming in the media.
His guaranteed income will be supplemented by sponsorship funds as well as his share of the fight's pay-per-view revenue.
He is convinced, nevertheless, that he will stun the world and deliver the unbeaten Fury his first-ever defeat.
Ngannou has been training with Boxing legend Mike Tyson ahead of his fight against Fury, scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2023.
