U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles must go back with a medal – Ladan Bosso

Ahead of their final game in the U20 AFCON, Nigeria U20 coach Ladan Bosso has set his eyes on the snatching bronze medal from Tunisia U20.

Bosso said in an exclusive interview with your number one online sports platform, Pulse Sports Nigeria, that the Nigeria U20 team, Flying Eagles, are fully focused on leaving Egypt with a medal.

Nigeria U20 will on Friday evening take on their counterparts from Tunisia U20 in the U20 AFCON third place match in Cairo.

The Flying Eagles were on a quest for an eighth U20 Africa title but came short after a narrow defeat to the Young Scorpions of Gambia in the semifinal.

Following the disappointment in the semifinal, the Nigeria U20 have a date with Tunisia U20, who also came short against Senegal in the first semifinal.

Ahead of the game against the young Eagles of Tunisia, Nigeria U20 coach, Bosso, told Pulse Sports that the boys are ready for the task ahead as the team has been psyched up following the heartbreak against Gambia U20.

Speaking first on the semifinal defeat, Bosso, who has already sealed a World Cup ticket, noted that it was unfortunate that the team lost despite being the better side on the day as they didn't plan to play the losers' game.

"It's unfortunate, we didn't plan to play the losers' game but things happened like that and you have to take fate and believe that sports, especially football, comes that way," Bosso said.

"When we lose out the psyche, putting too much pressure on oursleves because we lost out in the semifinals, then, it will not aurgur well for the next game and the future of these boys."

"The psyche in the camp now is that they believe going back to Abuja or Lagos with something is better than to go back with nothing - something like to be hanged because everyone would want to be on the medal's table," he added.

"The medal table now is what we are going for," he concluded.
