Super Eagles ace Victor Osimhen has dismissed the notion that he might leave Galatasaray in the January transfer window, as he stated definitively that he will remain at the club until his contract expires at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old’s move to Galatasaray has always been a stop-gap solution before he is able to secure a more permanent move away from Napoli. He joined the Cim-Bom on a season-long loan deal after the close of the European window, in which he failed to seal a desired move to a top European club.

Chelsea had reached advanced negotiations with the Nigerian, as Blues and Super Eagle legend John Mikel Obi confirmed, but they failed to reach an agreement before the deadline.

Mikel also added that Chelsea could return for Osimhen in the January transfer window, which lent credence to the reports that a break clause was included in the loan deal to Galatasaray, which would allow him leave six months early should a suitable offer arrive.

Osimhen has scored four goals in five matches for Galatasaray.

The Nigerian has taken Turkey by storm, scoring four goals in four Super Lig starts, with two assists to boot. Hence, the possibility of him leaving six months ahead of schedule is a point of distress for fans of the Lions.

While he was walking out of the club’s facilities, he was asked by an individual if he would leave by January, and he replied, “I am staying until the end.”
