Manchester United superfan Usain Bolt has made a passionate plea for club legend Rio Ferdinand to "go to the team and say something" following their frustrating 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist watched as Ruben Amorim’s side let a lead slip late in the game, only to be rescued by a last-gasp equaliser.

The Red Devils took a first-half lead through a Bryan Mbeumo header. However, Spurs mounted a late comeback, scoring twice in a frantic five-minute spell that seemed to have sealed a defeat for the visitors. It took a dramatic stoppage-time header from Matthijs de Ligt to salvage a point for United.

Bolt, a devoted United supporter, could not contain his frustration, sending a voice note to Rio Ferdinand's podcast to express his concerns.

What is Bothering Usain Bolt About Red Devils?

"I just watched the United game," the Jamaican icon said. "One of our biggest problems is when we invite pressure onto ourselves. They're always running back; all we do is invite pressure."

"Please, Rio, I'm begging you, man. Get to the team and say something," Bolt pleaded. "You are one of the greatest defenders Man United ever had. Please, bro, it's stressing me out."

He continued his critique of the team's defensive play: "They don't know how to defend one-on-one. Shaw is the only one that seems like he understands. All they know is system, lineup, and play well. They don't know how to step up, push the defender, and then go back into your line."

In contrast, Ferdinand offered a more measured analysis of his former club's performance, calling on fans to "temper their expectations."

Ferdinand Gives Honest Assessment of Man United

"There were times against Spurs where it wasn't working as a cohesive unit, but it's going to happen!" Ferdinand admitted. "We're still in this rebuilding phase, and I think that's why we've got to manage the expectations of fans."

The former defender also backed manager Ruben Amorim's in-game decisions. "I've seen some people going off on one, going crazy saying, 'The manager ruined it with his substitutions.' But if he didn't make any subs and we still got the same result, everyone would be going, 'Why didn't he change it?' He's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't sometimes."

United's situation was complicated when they were reduced to 10 men for the final minutes after Benjamin Sesko was forced off injured.

Amorim had already used all five of his substitutes, having brought on Manuel Ugarte, Patrick Dorgu, Mason Mount, Leny Yoro, and Sesko. The manager later explained that he had to withdraw Harry Maguire and Casemiro due to knocks.
