Boniface contributed two goals as Bayer Leverkusen survived a scare to thrash Qarabag FK 5-1 during their Europa League, UEL, clash on Thursday night.
Boniface shines for Bayer
The UEL remains one competition that presents thrilling encounters and one of these featured Nigeria’s Boniface, who displayed his extraordinary skill and ability once again for Leverkusen.
The 24-year-old added to his goal tally this season as he netted a stunning first-half strike to double the lead for Bayer after goals from Florian Writz and Alex Grimaldo.
Boniface’s goal against Qarabag showed that he is a man in red-hot form after he let fly from just outside the box to give Bayer a 3-1 lead.
His ability to read the game, create space, and execute that striker that left the goalkeeper in no man’s land was a testament to his footballing intelligence and technical prowess.
The Super Eagles star went on to assist teammate, Edmond Tapsoba, who wrapped up proceedings at the BayArena.
Boniface has now scored two goals in two matches this season for Bayer in the Europa League to add to his seven in the Bundesliga.
