Victor Osimhen transfer decision finally made as Arsenal look to end 20-year title drought
Arsenal are still in the market for a guaranteed goalscorer as they look to finally break their 20-year title drought and wrestle the Premier League from Manchester City.
Mikel Arteta has been linked to a host of strikers this summer, including Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres, Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, and Napoli's Victor Osimhen.
The Gunners emerged as frontrunners for Osimhen's signature after Chelsea and PSG reportedly pulled out.
Arsenal no longer interested in signing Victor Osimhen
Now, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, the Gunners have decided to abandon a move for the Nigerian striker.
Arteta had previously been linked with a big-money swoop for the 25-year-old goal machine but the club have moved onto alternatives.
The report further states that Arteta will push for Sporting's Gyokeres, who could cost up to €100m.
Manchester United have also been linked with Osimhen, but INEOS are unlikely to sanction such an expensive signing.
