Vipers Boss Promises Players League Title Bonuses Worth Five Times More Than FUFA Prize Money
Vipers SC enjoy a four-point lead at the top of the Ugandan Premier League standings with nine games to go and there is huge motivation to win the title.
The Venoms, who left it late to beat Calvary on Saturday, have been promised UGX300 million if they retain their title by the club’s president Lawrence Mulindwa.
In a bid to motivate his players, Mulindwa has put his money where his mouth is by promising the huge amount for a league title win, just weeks after rewarding the players UGX50 million for finishing top of the standings in the first round.
This is not the first time Mulindwa is promising the players a huge sum as he rewarded them with UGX200 million for winning the league last season.

To show just how staggering this promise is, UGX300 million is five times more than what FUFA rewards league champions given UGX60 million is what the league winners will get from the federation.
At St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende, Vipers struggled to break down the bottom-of-the-table side, Calvary, for much of the match at the weekend. The breakthrough finally came in the 86th minute when Congolese forward Gusto Wa Ilungo Mulungo found the net from close range.
The decisive goal was set up by Junior Yunus Ssentamu, who, along with Milton Karisa, had been brought on in the second half to inject creativity into the attack. The tactical switch paid off, with Mulungo—himself a 76th-minute substitute—earning Man of the Match honors for his game-winning contribution.
The hard-fought victory took Vipers to 50 points from 21 matches, maintaining their four-point cushion over second-placed Kitara.
