Uganda's national women's basketball team, the Gazelles hit a historical landmark as they made the first ever quarterfinals at the FIBA Women's Afrobasket.

They reached the feat after a sumptuous 78-62 victory over Democratic Republic of Congo at the BK Arena, Kigali on Tuesday.

Following the triumph, like it's been the case in the past days, the crowd and the Gazelles unleashed the party vibe.

The ladies, cheered by the bubbly crowd, jammed to some of Uganda's finest sounds including Gravity Omutujju's 'Okwepicha', Alien Skin's 'Twayiseko dda' and Bobi Wine's 'Badman'.

It is expected to be an even more cheerful and joyous vibe in Rwanda as the Gazelles return to action against the host, Rwanda in the quarterfinal.

The Afrobasket, along with the Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa, have been major grounds for trading Ugandan music, especially after triumphs.
