Saka, who has contributed five goals and 10 assists in the Premier League this season, was forced off during the first half against Palace and was later seen leaving the stadium on crutches.
Arteta expresses concern over Saka's injury
“He felt something in his hamstring, he couldn’t continue, and he’ll have to be assessed. So, we’re really worried about that one,” Arteta said after the game via Reuters.
"It’s very difficult to [say] now – they have tested him inside but very difficult to say how bad it is," he added.
Arteta gives an update about Sterling
Adding to Arsenal's injury woes, Arteta also confirmed that Raheem Sterling will be unavailable due to an injury sustained before the Palace match.
"And Raheem as well, we lost Raheem yesterday. We don’t know for how long as well. So, to lose two players in 24 hours is not good," Arteta said.
“Unfortunately, with the amount of games that we are playing every three days with this schedule, it doesn’t surprise me but the team will react to that.”
Third-placed Arsenal closed the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool to three points, although the Merseyside club have played a game less.
