Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada remains confident in the success of "Project 150", the club's ambitious plan for both the men's and women's teams to win league titles in 2028, coinciding with United's 150th anniversary.

Berrada unveiled the plan last September, but Ruben Amorim's side subsequently endured their worst season since being relegated in 1973/74.

Meanwhile, the women's team faces a formidable challenge in dethroning treble-winning, undefeated Chelsea.

What Berrada said

"It's about setting a series of goals within a timeframe so we can focus our efforts and energy on this major objective. Can this team win the Premier League title in 2028? Absolutely. Yes, we just finished 15th, and it looks like a mountain to climb, but why shouldn't we aspire to it?

"Why shouldn't we put all our resources towards it? I firmly believe we can do it. We have two or three summer transfer windows to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title. No one is saying we don't want to win it before then. We are setting ourselves a target date to aim for," said Berrada, as reported by Sportal.

The CEO compared Amorim's situation to Pep Guardiola's first year at Manchester City: "Pep's first year was tough. He didn't win anything and there were doubts about his ability to implement his vision in the Premier League. People called him arrogant and said he wouldn't adapt his style of play. But he stuck to his principles."

"It won't be easy. Nothing will be solved in one transfer window, but we are on the right path. We've put the worst part of this transitional phase behind us. Now we'll start building. I'm confident we'll be back at the top," added Berrada.
