Olympics 200m silver medalist Kenny Bednarek has ended his feud with track rival Noah Lyles after the two had an altercation at the US Championships last month.

Bednarek and Lyles had a go at each other when the former pushed the latter at the finish line after he had been given a cheeky stare by the world and Olympics 100m champion as he beat him in the 200m at the World Championships trials.

That saw the two athletes throw barbs at each other with Lyles demanding an apology as Bednarek claimed he had been disrespected.

However, after facing off at the 100m at Silesia Diamond League on Saturday, where Lyles was second in 100m, Bednarek, who finished third, has confirmed that the two American sprinters are on good terms now.

“Everything’s all good. We discussed behind closed doors and we’re on the same page now. That’s all I’ve got to say about that,” Bednarek told CITIUS Mag.

“[In] track and field, people win and there is not that much excitement I guess for the average fan and the people doing it. We are competitors and both of us want to win and I think it was something different.

“We both did not know what was going on. It was something small, but then it ended up being a bigger deal than it really was. But like I said, everything is sorted.”

Bednarek will now be focused on beating Lyles in both 100m and 200m at next month’s World Championships in Tokyo, Japan as he eyes a first major title of his career.
