Yassin Nasser ready to vroom in Jinja’s sugarcane plantations
Yassin Nasser has sent an early warning to his competitors ahead of the MOIL Eastern Motorsport Jinja Rally that will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
The MOIL driver is leading the NRC table with 298 points, 65 above his closest competitor Duncan Mubiru while defending champion Byron Rugomoka comes at a distant third with 172.
“We’re very prepared this time and the car is set,” Nasser said in an interview with this reporter.
Nasser stretched the gap with the Mubiru after winning the Kabalega Rally in Hoima.
Mubiru slashed it in the second leg after beating Nasser to the Pearl of Africa Rally held on the same course in Jinja.
Nasser notes that his car developed some mechanical issues with the brakes but all that is now sorted and ready to do better in Jinja.
“We had some challenges last time but that was sorted and we won the last race in Hoima. We’re coming back to Jinja stronger,” he says with confidence.
