You don't have to stay — Newcastle boss Eddie Howe sends blunt message to Isak
Newcastle United were beaten 2-0 by Atletico Madrid at St James' Park to make it six pre-season games without a win, and more tellingly, all without star striker Alexander Isak.
Reports suggest Newcastle have no intentions of selling, but the ramifications of keeping a desperately unhappy player against his will could have dire consequences.
Eddie How hints Isak can leave
Speaking after the Magpies' defeat to Atletico, Howe was asked about the state of things regarding his wantaway striker, and the Toon boss made it clear, he will not hold anyone to ransom.
In quotes reported by Fabrizio Romano, Howe was asked if Isak had been told he must stay at Newcastle this summer, and the former Bournemouth boss replied;
“No, that’s not something I'm aware of. I have no knowledge of that. I’m not party to all discussions, but I have no knowledge of that."

Liverpool made an offer of 110 million pounds last week, which was swiftly rejected by Newcastle, who have always maintained that the striker was not for sale.
With the transfer window closing in three weeks, all outcomes remain open.
