Speaking after the game, as reported by Sportal, Slot said, "When you play for Liverpool, you mostly get praise and sometimes maybe a little criticism, which isn't a bad thing.

"You have to be great when you play against Arsenal, with all their attacking threats. I think they thought, 'Wow, we did well,' and then they looked up and saw Eze and Ødegaard coming on! But they handled them well, too.

"So, a very good game. I think Virgil van Dijk was already great against Newcastle, and he and the rest were very good today as well."

The win puts Liverpool on a perfect record in the new season, with three wins from three games and also top of the EPL table.
