‘You're a mean-spirited son of a b****’ - Messi hits out at referee after Inter Miami’s draw against Charlotte

Miami was held to a 1-1 draw by Charlotte, making it three draws in a row for David Beckham’s side.

Karol Swiderski gave Charlotte the lead in the 56th minute, but Messi's incredible finish ten minutes later pulled his team even.

Inter Miami were wasteful during the game and they failed to convert their chances to earn a win.

After the game, Messi was furious with the referee because he thought his team ought to have been given a penalty in the end.

He went over to the referee and said, "You're a mean-spirited son of a b****," according to "Ole" via Mundo Deportivo.

The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner escaped being issued a red card by the referee but was instead given a yellow card for his argument.

Meanwhile, Inter Miami is on the verge of taking home the Supporters' Shield, which is awarded to the team with the best regular-season record, despite three consecutive ties.

With three games remaining, they are eight points ahead of Columbus Crew, who are in second place in the Eastern Conference.
