Rekindling old rivalry

Lionel Messi, who is considered by some, the greatest to ever kick the round leather ball, is reported to join the Saudi Arabian Giants at the end of the season. However, there have been contradicting views by another faction of football lovers who believe Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest of all time.

Cristiano Ronaldo who moved to Al-Nassr from Manchester United in the 2022/2023 January transfer window is greatly adored by millions of football fans around the world. His excellent goal-scoring records, exploits in the Uefa champions league and individual honours give his fans enough bragging rights to declare him the greatest football player ever.

With the latest report, this move would spark up the fire of old rivalry between these two greats; a blessing to the Asian football community. A contest that has lasted for over 15 years, pushing both players to outdo themselves, going head to head for titles and individual awards. Both players would be expected to continue their rivalry in the Asian league, even in their twilight years of football careers.

The Reunion

According to recent reports, Al-Hilal are eyeing a move for Barcelona duo Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets. The Catalonian veterans enjoyed a successful stint playing with Lionel Messi in Barcelona yielding over 15 trophies. Successful recruitment of these three players would no doubt heighten the expectations of their fans, placing them as favourites in any competition they play.
