More companies have pledged to offer Angola players gift hampers worth millions if they knockout Nigeria in the AFCON quarter finals on Friday evening.

Angola are living the dream at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Sable Antelopes are the lowest-ranked nation (117th) still in the competition ahead of their clash against Nigeria on Friday evening with an eye on reaching the semi-finals, and their run to this stage has not been a fluke.

The nation drew all three of its games 0-0 before they beat Namibia 3-0 in the round of 16 to book a date with a star-studded Nigeria.

On Monday, Pulse Sports had reported that UNITEL, a private Angolan mobile phone company has awarded iPhone 15s with free calls, SMS, and internet for a year to every member of the Angolan delegation in Cote d’Ivoire.

Angolano de Investimento, a bank in Angola, further announced that it would reward each Angola player and coaching staff with Ksh1 million if they defeat the Super Eagles on Friday.

Sodiam EP, an Angolan diamond trading company also pledged a substantial amount of $250,000 to the national team if Angola secured a spot in the final of the 34th edition of the tournament.

Now, more gift hampers have been offered to the national team. Each player has now been promised a piece of land in Viana, Angola by the town’s municipality.

Nice Zulu, an Angolan rapper, has offered the players free perfumes from his cosmetic store for a year. 12,000 USD (approximately Ksh 1.9 million) has been promised to each player by a fishing company in the country.

440 Angolans will also be given a free ride to the Ivory Coast by the country’s airline company TAAG Angola Airlines to ensure maximum support.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Angola at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, Abidjan, on Friday, February 2, 2024.

Both teams come into this match with an unbeaten record in the tournament. Should Angola win, they will make the semis for the first time in their history, while Nigeria will be aiming they stand a chance of winning the crown for the first time since 2013.
