Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia has berated his charges for “not being at their best” as they were downed 2-0 by Kenya Police who were going through some sort of new head coach bounce after appointing Zdravko Logarušić earlier this week.
Police needed goals from Clifton Kinanga and Kenneth Muguna to set the game to match by giving them their first three points of the season, consigning Bidco to suffer their first loss of the season.

With about 200m to run, Chebet put up a good fight and unleashed her finishing kick to win the race in a time of 14:35.

“It was a game where we were not at our best,” Akhulia said, “We really struggled especially in midfield considering we played the last game so well,” he added.
“I was expecting they would do the same like they did in the last match against Talanta but it wasn’t. (Said) Tsuma, (Daglas) Mokaya and Zizou ( Martin Mbugua) all struggled in the middle so it was a game we thought would be easy but wasn’t.”
“It is something we have learnt. In our next match, we need to come up and be the team that we are.”

Bidco had to rely on set piece situations to try and create chances to score goals after failing to create much from open play.
Although Akhulia is pleased they created a lot of set piece situations, he was frustrated that they did not maximize on them.

FKFPL Logarusic in awe of improvement in competitiveness of Kenyan top flight after winning start at Police
The former AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia tactician has admitted that the level of competitiveness in the Kenyan topflight has taken a notch higher in the seven years he has been away.
He did however praise both showstoppers, saying they are the only players who left the pitch with consistently good performances for the whole duration of the match.
“It is something we have been doing. We have been very good in terms of creating setpieces especially in the opponents’ attacking third, and it has been helping us.
“We struggled a lot. We were not at our best. The two stoppers had a good game although we conceded two goals. They were very good in their areas but the rest of the team has struggled.
“This is only our fifth match though so I think we will go back and see who come in, who deserves to rest and who warrants playing well against Bandari in our next match because we have a good squad.”
