Uganda’s most prestigious men football league, the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, will have a champion this Saturday. The 2023/2024 title has gone to the wire with Villa, Vipers, Bul and Kitara all in contention for the championship.

SC Villa and Vipers SC find themselves in tricky positions just like last season where the former narrowly missed the championship after a 1:0 loss to URA FC at Wankulukuku, while Vipers win against Busoga at St. Mary’s Stadium were good enough to hand them the title.

All the top 4 likely winners has all to play for, Vipers looking to defend the title, SC Villa Jogo looking to end the 20 years trophy drought, BUL FC looking to win its first gold medal and becoming the second team from Busoga to win the championship, after Nile FC.

Kitara prays for all the top 3 to lose and if this happens, the Kabalega Boys will need a win against Jinja outfit (Gaddafi FC)to claim the title. This season has been remarkable as the title has a possibility of heading to 3 geographical regions of Uganda – Buganda, Busoga or Bunyoro.

“StarTimes is proud to be the lead sponsor and promoter of Ugandan football, it is our main business objective to support and add value to local content and talent.

StarTimes has dedicated 3 channels to air live and timely updates from the different stadiums. NEC FC Vs SC Villa will be live on Sanyuka Prime, the Busoga Derby between BusogaFC and BUL FC will be live on FUFA TV, while the defending champions, Vipers SC, Vs Mbarara City FC, will broadcast a free to air game on BBS Telefayina. All matches will kickoff at 3PM and all StarTimes subscribers will be able to catch the action live irrespective of their bouquets.
