Chelsea's all-action midfielder, Conor Gallagher, leads the way in the list of Premier League players who have committed the most fouls.

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is enjoying a resurgence this season, as he has forced himself into becoming an undroppable player for Mauricio Pochettino despite struggling last season.

The 23-year-old is a Cobham Academy graduate, but it was at Crystal Palace that he proved himself of Premier League quality.

This earned him a return to Stamford Bridge and after struggling to justify this trust last term, starting only 18 games last season, he has achieved prominence this term, starting all 12 league games the Blues have played this season.

Gallagher is an all-action midfielder, and this has meant that he is on the high side in terms of foul count; in fact, he has committed the most fouls in the Premier League this season.

Dirtiest players in the Premier League

According to the Sun, the England international ranks highest for fouls committed in the Premier League this season with 26 fouls; however, this has not reflected in his yellow card count this season (only one), as he has managed to keep his infringements just below the threshold for a carded offence.

Gallagher’s 2.1 fouls per game average is significantly higher than Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure, Wolves’s Joao Gomez and Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie, who have all racked up 22 fouls.
