Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is edging closer to a return after a four-month absence due to a calf injury.

Mount was pictured in training with the squad at Carrington on Tuesday for the first time, having not played for United since the 1-0 win over Luton Town on Nov. 11.

Mount set to return from long-term injury

The England midfielder is not expected to play against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarterfinal on Sunday at Old Trafford.

However, there's optimism he could return for the Brentford match on March 30 after the international break.

Since joining United for £55 million from Chelsea last summer, Mount's debut season has been marred by injury.

He has made only 12 appearances in all competitions, starting seven and coming off the bench five times.
