Ralf Rangnick revealed that he is uninterested in replacing Hansi Flick and the next coach of Germany.

Former Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has taken himself out of contention for the Germany national team manager position, which recently became vacant.

Germany in search of a new coach

The German Football Association (DFB) is in search of a new coach after sacking a manager for the first time in its history.

Hansi Flick, who took the job in 2021 after leading Bayern Munich to a treble, was fired yesterday following a poor run of results. Die Mannschaft, under him, crashed out of the World Cup in the group stage and only managed 12 victories in 25 games, a win percentage of less than 50.

Former striker Rudi Voller, who coached the team between 2001 and 2004, has now assumed the role on an interim basis and will be in the dugout when Germany host France tomorrow, but has suggested an unwillingness to become the permanent coach.

German coach Ragnick has been suggested as a possible replacement, but the 65-year-old has now taken himself out of contention.

What Ragnick said

Ragnick is currently the coach of the Austrian national team, and he claims he is committed to the role and is not interested in leaving even if the opportunity to coach his country of birth arises.

 "No chance,” Ragnick told ORF.

“I decided 14 months ago to work as head coach in Austria, prepare the team to qualify for the Euros, and play a good role there. Everything else is not a topic for me."
