Mason Greenwood has been praised by Getafe boss Jose Bordalas as a great guy who has exemplary behaviour after Jude Bellingham allegedly called him a "rapist."

Following Bellingham's signing with Real Madrid in June and Greenwood's transfer to La Liga in September, the two English players faced off in their first match of the season.

Bellingham's crushing tackle of Greenwood, which forced the ball out of play, ignited the match on Thursday.

Social media users were quick to point out that they saw the Real Madrid player mutter the word "rapist" at the forward in the video of the incident.

Greenwood was hoping he might help Getafe defeat Real Madrid. However, Joselu's brace proved to be the difference as they lost the match 2-0.

In a post-match interview, Getafe head coach Bordalas expressed his dissatisfaction with both the outcome and Greenwood's handling, calling him a "great guy who has exemplary behaviour."

Speaking about Bellingham's alleged slur, as reported by Daily Mail, Bordales said, “I know the same thing that you know. It's not up to me, it's the club, LaLiga and the Federation that have to make an assessment about it.

“The only thing that I can say is that I ask for respect for Mason Greenwood because he is a great guy. He is a man who respects everyone and has exemplary behaviour.”

After the match, Getafe decided to take action and requested that referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea note the alleged insult in his match report.

Bellingham might still face disciplinary action from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for doing so, although it might be difficult to show without video.
