England star player Lauren James has deactivated the comments section on her social media after the red card incident.

The Lioness qualified for the quarter-final by beating Nigeria in a penalty shootout despite being a man down.

During the game, the Chelsea star fouled the Super Falcons defender Alozie and stamped her with her boot while trying to get up.

Lauren James was given a yellow card by the referee but it was overturned to a red card after being reviewed by the VAR.

After the game, Lauren James went to her Instagram and Twitter accounts and blocked the comment sections.

Lauren James locks her comment section on social media

Lauren James' action on the Nigerian defender has led to a lot of talks on social media as fans call her out for poor sportsmanship.

Many Nigerian fans were angry with the way she stamped the Nigerian defender Alozie during the 85th minute of the game.

Lauren James was kept quiet throughout the game and could not make an impact for her team as they struggled to break down the Super Falcons.

According to The PUNCH, James turned off the comment sections on her Instagram and Twitter posts after the match.

She has deactivated the comment section of her social media account to avoid comments from fans.

James will miss England's quarter-final match against either Jamaica or Colombia who are yet to play.

Both teams will face each other for a spot in the quarter-finals against England.
