AFC Leopards faces a challenging FKF Premier League season, seeks redemption in December matches to climb from 14th place

Twelve-time  Kenyan champions AFC Leopards continue to grapple with a challenging season in the 2023-2024 FKF Premier League.

The recent 1-1 draw against Sofapaka marked their seventh draw of the campaign, accentuating their struggle for consistency and a lack of victories in the last four league matches.

Under the management of coach Tomas Trucha, Ingwe find themselves in the relegation zone, occupying the 14th position with a meager 10 points, just one point above the danger zone.

The team's woes underscore the urgency for a turnaround in form, with fans and players alike expressing concerns over the lackluster performance this season.

Having secured only one win in 12 games—a slim 1-0 victory against Nzoia Sugar in October—AFC Leopards faces an uphill battle to salvage their season.

In an effort to reverse their fortunes, AFC Leopards' December fixtures carry significant weight.

Their first match is slated against Tusker FC this weekend, though the venue remains unconfirmed due to the Nyayo National Stadium's closure for renovations, as announced by Cabinet Secretary of Sports Ababu Namwamba.

The encounter with Bidco United on December 10 will be a crucial test for coach Tomas Trucha's side, followed by a journey to face Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu Stadium on December 17.

The last match of the year, scheduled for December 20, sees AFC Leopards confronting Muranga Seal. As the league then takes a break for the festive season, the team aims to conclude the year on a positive note.

The upcoming matches present an opportunity for redemption, and fans are hopeful that AFC Leopards can climb the league table and distance themselves from the relegation threat.

The struggles of AFC Leopards go beyond a mere lack of victories; they grapple with consistency and goal-scoring challenges, adding to the complexity of their predicament.

Coach Tomas Trucha faces the daunting task of rejuvenating the team's spirit and instilling a winning mentality.

As the December fixtures approach, AFC Leopards will be looking to  address their on-field issues to avoid slipping further down the league standings.

The matches against formidable opponents provide a platform for the players to showcase their prowess and determination to revive the glory days of the club.
