The Venoms are coming off a back of a three-game winless run that has seen them draw once and lose two straight matches.

Under their new head coach, Charles Livingstone Mbabazi, Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC will be keen on picking their first victory of the year when they host NEC FC at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende, on Wednesday.

Mbabazi was made the new face at Kitende and will instantly dive into the fray for his first game as the commander-in-chief.

The Venoms are coming off a back of a three-game winless run that has seen them draw once and lose two straight matches.

After a 1-1 with Maroons FC a fortnight back, they have gone on to lose 3-2 and 2-0 to BUL FC and Express FC, respectively, for their most recent matches.

Against NEC, they have an opportunity to bounce back to winning ways and ascend from fifth, where they sit with 24 points, to second.

They take on a side that has also failed to win in their last three matches, as they have drawn twice and suffered defeat on one occasion.

They sit seventh on the log, having accumulated 21 points in 13 games.

Vipers and NEC don't have a history in the Uganda Premier League, as the latter only joined the top flight in the current campaign.
