The Eastern Giants were dropping points for the second time in three second-round matches, having also drawn 0-0 with KCCA FC a fortnight back.

Uganda Premier League table leaders BUL FC were dealt a blip in their pursuit of the championship after a barren stalemate with Maroons FC at the Luzira Prison Grounds, on Friday.

The Eastern Giants were dropping points for the second time in three second-round matches, having also drawn 0-0 with KCCA FC a fortnight back.

Their only three points in this round came with a 2-1 home victory over Soltilo Bright Stars FC.

At Luzira, BUL missed three of their most important players including Nicholas Mwere, Alex Kitata and winger Reagan Kalyowa.

It was a game with minimal goalscoring opportunities, with the biggest coming from Gerald Ogweti, whose powerful dipping shot was tipped over by goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo.

Despite the draw, BUL still lead proceedings with 38 points after 18 games.

They will return to action on February 28 when they host record holders SC Villa at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

On the other hand, sixth-placed Maroons (30 points) will visit URA FC on February 29 at the Mehta Stadium, Lugazi.
