Manchester United set to rival Real Madrid for Celta Vigo star.

Manchester United have reportedly joined the race for Celta Vigo's youngster Gabri Veiga after he received excellent reviews from scouts who were sent to watch him.

The 20-year-old is one of the best performers in LaLiga this season, scoring nine goals this season already, and he is attracting interest from all over Europe, expanding the list as the Red Devils join the race.

The interest in Veiga

According to Football Insider, Manchester United are weighing up a summer move for Viega after he received glowing recommendations from scouts who have been tasked to watch him

The Red Devils are reportedly looking to bring in a central midfielder in the summer and will prioritise signing Marcel Sabitzer permanently, but are also looking elsewhere, prompting interest in Gabri Veiga.

The Celta academy graduate has been subject to such interest for months now, as his impressive goal-scoring prowess as a midfielder coupled with his technical abilities leave little to be desired.

He has scored nine goals in only 19 starts this season, while also registering four assists. His 13-goal contributions place only nine players in the entire league ahead of him.

The Red Devils are expected to face stiff competition to land him, as Real Madrid, among others, are said to also like Veiga and be considering a summer move.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have reportedly quoted a fee of £50 million for Scotland international, Scott McTominay as interest from Newcastle United grows

The 28-year-old academy graduate has racked up over 200 appearances for the Red Devils since making his debut in 2017 under Jose Mourinho and could be set to leave Old Trafford as his game time has dwindled following the arrival of new signings.

The Magpies are said to be attentive to the situation of the Scotsman, who reportedly gave Manchester United's hierarchy an ultimatum concerning his reduced game time, according to Teamtalk.
