Harry Kane will go into the final year of his contract next season and Tottenham are desperate to convince him to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Kane had hoped last year’s arrival of a proven winner like Antonio Conte would see the club end their trophy drought but the Conte era ended in disappointing fashion.

Harry Kane's Tottenham contract expires in 2024

Manchester United retain an interest in the England captain and Bayern Munich have been long-time admirers. It is believed that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will only sanction a sale to a club outside England, should Kane decline an extension.

Kane may be too expensive for Bayern Munich

Despite Levy's preference to sell Kane to a foreign club, possibly Bayern, the German side may need help to meet Spurs' demands.

According to 90min, Kane is valued at €50m in Munich, thanks to his expiring contract while Spurs are believed to be looking for at least two times that amount.

Chief financial officer Michael Diederich has revealed that a €100m transfer may be too much for Bayern.

“I don’t rule anything out but can we afford such a transfer and do we want such a transfer?" Diederich said. “We have to keep an eye on our profitability.”

It is expected that Bayern will pursue Kane this summer, as well as Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, while new manager Thomas Tuchel wants to reunite with Chelsea’s Kai Havertz, who may be available this summer.
