Uzoho, the Nigerian goalkeeper, made an uncharacteristic error that allowed Saudi Arabia to break the deadlock on the hour mark.

The 24-year-old made a mess of a free kick from inside the Nigerian half from Salman Al-Faraj to give the Falcons the lead against the run of play.

The Leicester City man gave his teammate a noticeable side-glance, often referred to as ‘bombastic side-eye’ in Nigeria. The expression on the defensive midfielder’s face spoke volumes and was evidence of his disappointment.

This mistake proved to be costly in the end after the Super Eagles fought back to lead 2-1 in the game thanks to two superb goals from Victor Boniface and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Saudi Arabia struck late on from Mohamed Kanno’s free-kick to earn the Falcons a share of the spoils.

But the moment between Ndidi and Uzoho showed the high standards and expectations which have now attracted reactions from Nigerians.

Here is what some of them had to say about Ndidi’s disapproving glance.
