Vipers SC have confirmed playmaker Allan Okello returned to full training from injury this week and that he could feature against his former side, KCCA FC, on Friday at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Signed in the final days of the transfer window, Okello has been out as he was allowed to undergo rehabilitation after complications in the knee.

"Allan Okello returned to full team training and in the squad to face KCCA FC," read a statement about Vipers' team news ahead of the hugely anticipated bout.

However, the Uganda Premier League champions further revealed that Okello will need a late fitness test to ascertain his entire presence.

"But (he) will face a late fitness test," the club summed on the left-footed playmaker.

The Uganda Premier League champions had initially projected the left-footed gem's return for the second round.

His return coincides with arguably the biggest game between two of the most successful clubs in recent times.

Okello is a former KCCA player who graduated from Kibuli Secondary School and the club's junior ranks, the KCCA FC Junior Team.

He established himself as a darling at the club following a hugely successful first stint before he left for Algeria's Paradou AC.

That was before he returned last season with the Kasasiro Boys on loan from Paradou, a side that terminated the remainder of his contract, eventually choosing Vipers ahead of KCCA.

Meanwhile, still ahead of tomorrow's game, Vipers have ruled out defenders Murushid Juuko and Hillary Mukundane through respective injuries.

Goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza, midfielder Marvin Joseph Youngman and striker Fumador Asiwome will all continue on the sidelines.
