Richard Odada anchored Aalborg's midfield as the Danish second division leaders thrashed AC Horsens on Friday night

Richard Odada continued his fine start to life in Denmark, orchestrating Aalborg’s midfield as they grabbed their ninth  victory of the season in the NordicBet League, beating AC Horsens 4-1 on Friday.

Odada, who won the league’s goal of the month earlier this week, clocked 75 minutes under his belt, which will give him the sharpness needed before Harambee Stars face Russia in an international friendly to be held in Turkey next week.

With his first goal in the Aalborg shirt, Sebastian Otoa made it 1-0 in the eighth minute after a drop ball from a corner kick.

Midway through the first half, the Denmark U21 international took advantage of another drop ball from a corner kick to double North Jutland’s lead.

Before the break, Melker Widell hit the post, and Younes Bakiz then made it 3-0 from the penalty spot eight minutes after the interval.

Horsens then scored what proved to be the consolation goal through Anders Jacobsen to make it 3-1, before Pedro Ferreira put the game set and match by restoring Aalborg's three-goal lead to make it 4-1 five minutes before time.

Friday's victory now means Aalborg occupy first place in the NordicBet League with 30 points. Sønderjyske are second on 27 points, while FC Fredericia third with 23 points.

The four-time Danish champions are looking to bounce back to the top flight at the first time of asking following their relegation last season.

Odada has quickly become a fan favourite since switching from MSL side Philadelphia Union to Denmark in August and the goal of the month vote was another show of confidence from Aalborg supporters who will be hoping that he can maintain the good form and turn the deal into a permanent move.
