Engin Firat included seven new players for Harambee Stars in the Four-Nations tournament, refreshing the squad with talent and potential.

Engin Firat has named seven new players in his Harambee Stars squad for the Four Nations Tournament, slated to be held from Thursday 21 to Tuesday 26 March in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Harambee Stars are set to kick off the tournament against the host nation, Malawi, at the Bingu Stadium on Saturday, March 23.

With the final squad yet to be announced, the inclusion of these seven newcomers opens the door for potential debutants to make their mark on the senior national team.

Alphonce Omija

Among the notable new faces is Alphonce Omija, an Omani-based centre-back who currently plies his trade with Dhofar Club.

Having previously played for prominent Kenyan clubs Gor Mahia and Kariobangi Sharks, Omija's journey from the national U17 team captaincy to earning his spot on the senior team reflects his significant progress and promise as a defender.

Kayci Odhiambo

Joining Omija is Kayci Odhiambo, the assistant captain of AFC Leopards, who earns his maiden call-up to the national team.

Kayci's exceptional performances as a center-back and also as a midfielder at his club have not gone unnoticed, showcasing his readiness to step up to the international level.

Chrispine Erambo

Chrispine Erambo, the defensive midfielder from Tusker, is another fresh face in the squad. Erambo's consistency and ability to break up play have been key to his club's midfield stability, making him a valuable addition to the national team.

Bonphas Munyasa

The inclusion of Murang'a Seal's goalkeeper, Bonphas Munyasa, adds depth to the team's goalkeeping options.

Munyasa's agility and shot-stopping capabilities will be under scrutiny as he looks to establish himself among Kenya's goalkeeping elite.

Shariff Musa

Shariff Musa, the winger from Gor Mahia, brings pace and creativity to the Harambee Stars' flanks.

His first call-up is a chance to translate his club form onto the international stage and provide additional attacking options for Firat.

David Sakwa

David Sakwa, the Bandari striker, is perhaps the most surprising addition to the squad.

Despite being relatively new to top-flight football, Sakwa's potential and scoring prowess have earned him a spot in the national team, highlighting Firat's willingness to invest in youthful exuberance.

Jonah Ayunga

Completing the list of new call-ups is Jonah Ayunga, who plays his club football in Scotland.

Although previously called up to the U23 team in 2019, Ayunga is yet to make his senior debut.

His inclusion in the squad provides him with an opportunity to showcase his abilities and contribute to the team's attacking dynamics.

Engin Firat's decision to recall experienced players like the Egypt-based striker John Avire and the returning Collins Sichenje, who is back from injury, balances the squad with a mix of youth and experience.
